They could proudly proclaim themselves as .Medha Graduates・ from that day onwards. They had acquired the basic life-skills (which many others lacked) to attain respectable jobs. He hoped that they would do well in life and be an inspiration to others. These were the final remarks of Byomkesh Mishra as he bid farewell to the outgoing students of Medha・s Employability Development Programme. Fifty students from all the three government degree colleges had gathered at Medha・s office in Lucknow city on February 14 2014. It was a day to celebrate all the hard work that they had put into the year-long training programme. Everyone associated with Medha, including the students and the team members, was very happy with what he or she had achieved. But Mishra and Christopher Turillo were still engrossed in the arguments they had started in the morning. Availability of funds had always been the Achilles・ heel, particularly in one of the most underdeveloped states of the country. They did not know whether to accept the loan offer they had or discard their innovative business model. That day, they wanted the courage either for a yes or for a no. They had struggled hard to attain that loan offer. They required money not only to scale up their operations but also to keep their venture going. But accepting the offer was also difficult for them. Not only was it too grand in value, they also needed an assurance about their own ability to service the loan.
